PETS LOYAL 2 VETS CORN ROAST LOTS OF FUN
Here are some of the fun photos from yesterday’s Corn Roast. Once the clouds lifted, a light wind picked up and helped cool everything down. We want to thank everyone who came out to support Project Companion and to Shannon Cruse, Brian Russo, Donna Silver, Chery Meyer, Mary LeBaron, Tony Ryan, Bryant and Andrea Waller for their hard work in planning and volunteerism for this Corn Roast.
Shannon, Brian and Mary did a wonderful job at stopping by dozens of businesses to promote this event and pick up donations. It takes one person with a vision to launch a project, but it takes a team of great people to make the vision come true. Over 50 sponsors helped contribute to this year’s Corn Roast and we could not have done that without the incredible help of these people.
We’d also like to thank Bill Collins owner of Interstate Truck Driving School for donating his flat-bed trailer for the band and also for his generous donation of $1,000.00 to Pets Loyal 2 Vets. Thanks also to the Barstad Racing Team (Brent, Angie and Nick) for bringing their show car and race car out. Check out Nick’s web page and racing information at www.NickBarstad.com.
Wastband provided the music which we could not get enough of and also played at our last fundraising event. Tom Newman author of “Just War” spoke about his tours in Vietnam, Patricia Boyd-Pearson had her Minnesota Fallen Heroes calendars on site, John Bizal owner of Midwest Military in Prior Lake brought out three incredible WWII vehicles that he restored and Viking Liquor in Prior Lake was very helpful in providing supplies for our raffle baskets.
Last week Pets Loyal 2 Vets attended the Clearly Lake Animal Hospital 10th Anniversary Open House. They presented a check today in the amount of $1,518.50 which helps us get one step closer to our fundraising goal. JC Younger Company brothers Peter and Sandy donated $250.00. So, $4,877.00 was raised at the Corn Roast event not including the remaining items people won bids on but have to pick up and paid for so this number will increase.
So far, with the Cleary Lake donation from last week, and the Corn Roast event this week, Pets Loyal 2 Vets received $5,395.50. Once we have collected on all the remaining items people won the bids on, we will post those totals here also. Over all, a lot of food was eaten, everyone enjoyed the day with great music and the sun shined bright.
Please share this with your Facebook friends and let us know if you would like to be a part of our “Spring Fling” fundraising event. Please check out the photo section under the Timeline tab above. Photos will be all posted by later on Sunday afternoon and on our Facebook page. Pets Loyal 2 Vets would also like to extend its condolences to the family of Doug Pahl. Doug was one of the concrete crew workers who installed and finished the concrete here two weeks ago, but suddenly was taken away with a massive heart attack one week after he was here working. http://petsloyal2vets.org/wppg_photogallery/
