Pets Loyal 2 Vets is now accepting applications for donated dogs that will be trained and adopted free of charge to Minnesota veterans.
PetsLoyal2Vets.org is proud to serve its many Military Veterans who reside in every county and corner of Minnesota. With hundreds of animal shelters, rescue and adoption groups, and thousands of dogs waiting for a new home, PetsLoyal2Vets is confident there is a caring rescue or animal shelter out there just waiting to support a Veteran in need. With plans to place 40 to 50 trained companion, therapy and Psychiatric service dogs annually to Veterans diagnosed with PTSD, TBI we will be seeking great candidates from area shelters and groups to meet those needs.
We prefer dogs of a laid back nature such as Labrador’s and retrievers between the ages of 10 and 18 months but no older than 24 months. Dogs younger than this will be placed in foster homes.
Dogs selected for service will be evaluated and screened for character, breed, traits, health, age and personality to better meet the needs of each Veteran so once matched, the needs of both the Veteran and dog are met. All dogs must be up to date on shots, vaccines and be spayed or neutered and at least 11 months to 18 months of age and no older than 24 months.
